Every year I try to come up with something witty to say in the liner notes of these samplers. This year I said to myself, “Why? It’s not like anyone actually reads them.” So I’m going to make it short and sweet this time around.

It’s hard to believe this is the third volume of “Into The Furnace.” Three years of getting the word out about the great and talented bands and artists on The Charon Collective at Furnace Fest. Attending this event every year since it restarted has become more a family reunion than anything else. I get to reconnect with and see so many friends and acquaintances from all over the world that gather in one place to celebrate their passion for music.

“Into The Furnace Volume 3” gives listeners a free taste of all the latest and greatest tracks from an always growing roster of spectacular groups - from hardcore and punk to metal and indie rock. We even have a couple bands that fit into the industrial and new wave genres. One thing is for sure. There is something for everyone when it comes to The Charon Collective.

I try to take this space every year to publicly thank the awesome people who make The Charon Collective what it is. First, we wouldn’t be here without all the hardworking and talented folks behind the bands and projects. Secondly, my right hand man, Arthur Ramsey, deserves some praise. He works tirelessly to make every release, whether it be CD, Vinyl, or digital, something remarkable to gaze upon. Next, Ryan Fishel and Bryan Gray warrant gratitude as they’ve both been instrumental in remastering and restoring recordings that many thought were lost to time and the elements.

Last but not least, thank you to YOU - the person holding this CD and expanding your musical horizons. The Charon Collective would not be where it is today without your support and passion. We appreciate every track you stream and every CD or vinyl you buy.

Big shoutout to Chad Johnson and the rest of the Furnace Fest crew. They are always making this crazy celebration of life so much fun. We all know how much you give up of yourselves and your families to keep this carousel turning and we love you for it!
